Since the publicly announced Stewardship of PSADT by Patch My PC in 2023 - one of the most common questions our team has gotten is around if, and when there will be a charge for PSADT. The answer to this, is never. Patch My PC has a strong history of giving back to the community through user groups, conference sponsorships and massive give aways. The Patch My PC team sees the stewardship of PSADT as just another way to give back to the community we know and love. Our company would not be the organization it is today without the support of grass root organizations, and community open source teams like the PSADT team. This site is dedicated to storing all the different ways we have been asked this question, and supplies a link to our original statements around this partnership. ## Stewardship Comments from David James ![](https://youtu.be/begA6AduZQY?si=-tbNUBgrPvSoS_MS&t=395) ## Common Questions >[!Question] Will you drag us into paying for something, down the road? >No, Patch My PC is committed to the Open-Source status of PSADT. While there might be some better together scenarios, where the two tools have some seemless integrations the tooling itself will be open source on github. >[!Question] Does this mean there are going to be paid for features now? > No, we have no plans to add weird paywalls or other strange things to the product where we are taking your cash. >[!Question] Does this mean we can't contribute anymore? >Absolutely not. If anything you will be able to contribute more. Patch My PC has donated a ton of time to help improve pipeline, and code review to enable MORE commits from more people.
